Why You Don’t Need a Guru to Find Yourself
The Problem With the Guru Model
The guru tradition is real. It has produced extraordinary results throughout history. But it has also produced dependency — and a subtle message that the seeker is fundamentally incomplete without an external authority to validate them.
What you are seeking is already within you. Consciousness is your own nature. The Sound Current is not somewhere else — it is the vibration of your deepest being. A teacher, a method, a tradition can point the direction. They can give you the tools. They can calibrate the practice. But they cannot give you what is already yours.
The Difference Between Learning and Depending
There is a difference between learning from someone who has walked a path and depending on them to walk it for you. The first is how knowledge transfers across generations. The second is how spiritual dependency is manufactured — sometimes deliberately, sometimes through the natural human pull toward authority.
This path offers something different: here are the tools, here is the knowledge, here is the sequence. You do the work. Your experience belongs to you. No one’s validation of your inner life is required. The goal from day one is to make the calibrator irrelevant to your practice as fast as possible.
What You Already Are
You are already the observer. The work is not to earn consciousness or be granted it. It is to recognize what has always been there — and to stop looking for it in places that can never deliver it.
Dr. Papneja is not your destination. The Sound Current is your destination. He is a pointing device. Use the pointing. Ignore the pointer. Get to where the pointer is pointing. That is the entire relationship — and it is the most respectful one available.
The goal from day one is to make me irrelevant to your practice as fast as possible. That is when the work is actually done.
YOU ALREADY have everything
