Why do I keep going in circles — same patterns, same results? Papneja Method, Dr Papneja

Q10. Why do I keep going in circles — same patterns, same results?

The short answer: Because you keep changing the content of your life without changing the instrument that’s generating the pattern. New job, same experience. New relationship, same dynamic. The instrument doesn’t change by being pointed at new things.

The framework: The Chitta Bhumis are states of the instrument — not states of the circumstances. A Kshipta mind in a new city is still Kshipta. A Vikshipta consciousness in a new relationship will still oscillate. The patterns feel external because the impressions that generate them are invisible. But they’re in the nervous system, not in the circumstances.

The universe is not telling you something — that’s the Wisdom article on what the universe is actually telling you. Life is bound to you. The signal you keep getting is not a message from outside. It is the karma executing. The pattern will continue executing until the impression that drives it is resolved.

This is why changing circumstances doesn’t break cycles. This is why therapy that stays at the cognitive level doesn’t break cycles. Understanding the pattern is not the same as resolving it. The impression needs to be dissolved, not just understood.

The practice works at the level of the impression. Consciousness is the solvent. Every session of contact with the source thins the veil — dissolves the accumulated material that’s been generating the pattern. The cycle doesn’t break because you decided to break it. It breaks because there’s nothing left to generate it.

The turn: Stop changing the content. Start developing the instrument. Everything that needs to change will change from there — without force, without strategy, without willpower.
